The Green Hut 原素坊

Returned to The Green Hut and C had craving for Assam curry so Assam Curry Fish was the choice made. Spicy appetizing gravy that I easily finished the rice with and liked their use of bean-curd skin texture vegetarian fish slices. Another Thumbs Up to try this dish at this stall.

素唯美 健康素食

Glad to find the stall sustaining well with customers ordering before it's stall is open for the morning.

Woh...冰花锅贴Fried dumpling?
Interesting!  How could I resist handmade dumplings? Really have the similar taste !
Can try and should try when hot..
But I still prefer their soup wanton though...
Their texture of noodles wise, I still find it average and needs improvement: -p however, the soup advocated boiled with 8 natural ingredients is sweet & tasty, making overall dish a thumbs up!

素唯美 健康素食

T informed me there is a New Vegetarian stall, #01-88 (at stretch facing the road) at Redhill Market Food Centre .
Managed by a Chinese young couple, it sells handmade noodles and with healthy concept in mind, the boss especially recommends his healthy beetroot noodles. Will try next round :-).
I ordered their dry mushroom minced meat noodles instead. Well, the texture of the noodles is average and it would be preferred the mock ikan bilis is not added with the noodles so that it is easier to enjoy the noodles without having to bite something hard which affected the overall dining experience. But I like the big bowl of soup with good portion of vegetables that accompanied my order o dry noodles and the additional order of their own-made wanton of vegetables fillings. : -)
The stall opens daily till 9pm from Tuesday to Sunday.

Ji Xiang Ru Yi Vegetarian

I noticed that those vegetarian stalls with name : "Ru Yi" selling white mee hoon somehow attracts queues.: -)
This stall at 2nd stretch of the Redhill market food centre is another such popular stall.
Nice fried mee hoon! Their ingredients included fresh cabbage and my favourite compressed bean curd skin products!
No wonder long queue...;-)

Friendly Vegetarian Food

Was at this old estate and discovered a banner that showed the opening of New vegetarian stall: Shan Yuan Friendly Vegetarian Food,  at Blk 112 Bt Merah Food Centre, #01-13. Since it was near lunch time, decided to give it a try. Surprised to find the familiar faces of ex-vendor at the corner Lor 25 Geylang coffeeshop now relocated here at center stretch of the BM Food Centre.
Seeing their menu, they have home-made pizza at reasonable price of $5 but that may take some time to bake so Wanton Mee at $3 was ordered instead.
Well, the noodles were quite Q, with nice soya-based mock Char Siew.
Pity the Wanton replaced with instant product Dumplings and weird combination of seaweed soup. Nevertheless, a free bowl of soup is appreciated.:-)

Hee, interesting to find out they have Facebook under : Friendly Vegetarian Food 善缘素食...

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

Had a craving for dry noodles and remembering Soon Lee which I had not visited for months serves quite nice dry noodles, visited it this morning.
Well, indeed the standard maintains. Nice springy noodle texture and the vendor allowed change of accompanying ingredients such as mock roasted pork with mock fish making the meal even more enjoyable for me. Thumbs up! :-)

Located beside the market near RedHill MRT, it is the central corner stall at 1st stretch opposite the HDB shops.

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

Dumpling soup noodles! I really missed good ones and always on look-out for good vegetarian version. On its Daily Special menu of Soon Lee is Dumpling noodles so that's my choice for that day.
I love their soup Wanton type of noodles, Smooth & the mock ikan bilis and mock fried onion slices with the chilli padi really made the soup a fantastic drink that I always finish up. :P
The dumpling though not hand-made but can be bought from instant frozen type, instead of cooking it directly into soup and become mushy after, they are smart to steam it that the shape remains firm and nice and add on the soup after.
A satisfactory meal! :-)

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

For one who likes to try interesting dishes, I can't help going to Soon Lee again whenever I visit the Redhill market to see if there are new specialty that they serve. And today, Stewed mutton noodles, Kambing (Traditional Indian) soup style.
Appetising-looking?
S says that she could smell the fragrance when I bring it back to the table. Rich with Satay sauce flavoured soup with slices of fried beancurb and mock mutton balls, the pasley and chilli enhanced its flavour. Can try again next time on menu! :-)

Lucky Vegetarian Food

After viewing the Claypot Laksa featured at the TV variety show, we got interested to explore the Alexandra Village Food Centre, and I am happy to find 2 vegetarian stalls: Lucky Vegetarian & Xing Guang Vegetarian, in the food centre located in the estate opposite Queensway Shopping Centre. And both serve other than Standard Mee Hoon, dishes such as Vegetarian Chicken Rice, Kwai Chap, Fish Soup, Dry Noodles, etc.
Decided to try Dry noodles from Lucky Vegetarian, which is located at the same stretch as the Claypot Laksa. Forgoing mock barbecue pork, I requested for more mock goose pieces, its other ingredients. The noodles were well-cooked and smooth, nice at $2.50. :-)
Ok , likely to come back to try more as well as from Xing Guang Vegetarian located at centre lane of the food centre. :-)

Ru Yi Yuan Vegetarian

Whenever I visit Redhill MRT market, I would passby this coffeeshop located opposite the Redhill Market. It is always crowded & especially this Ru Yi Yuan Vegetarian stall that attracts long queue even on non-vegetarian days of 1st & 15th day of lunar month.

Finally, decided to spend time to queue for it. It's quite a good portion at $2/2.50 & it has many interesting looking mock products which I added my favourite compressed beancurb skin dish which just costed a dollar more. :-) The meehoon is still okay but the variety of standard side dishes which is quite tasty is their sellng point.

It is located at Blk 80 Redhill Lane Coffeeshop, opposite the Market, about 5 mins walk from Redhill MRT.

Chuan Ren Vegetarian Food at Bt Merah Central

There had been alot of changes in the old Bt Merah Central that I used to frequent years ago, especially on the Vegetarian stalls, they had all ceased operation. :-(
This is a new stall that I noticed at the coffee shop opposite the Hawker centre.
When I saw the name, I thought this may be run by a fan of Ven. Chuan Ren:-)
Friend ordered their economical rice & regreted as the dishes were cold while I was glad I ordered their Menu of the day: Lor Mee, which came hot, tastewise okay, can try.:-]

Fu Yuan Vegetarian Food

Visited ABC Brickworks Food Centre, located at 6 Jalan Bukit Merah, located between Bt Merah Central & old Safra for breakfast. There are 2 stalls of vegetarian stalls in this popular food centre. Craving for something spicy, I decided to patronise this centre stall that has Mee Siam on its Special menu of the day. The gravy is very authentic with just nice sourness & sweetness required of a good Mee Siam. A pity they did not cover their mee hoon with enough gravy. Or else if well soaked with the gravy, it would had won more points.

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

I couldn't resist the temptation to order its dry Ngian Toufu when I saw many patrons ordering it. Indeed, its sauce tasted excellent and very appetising. The owner was very generous with the kangkong vege, unlike some stalls. I regretted not asking for a larger bowl of the tasty and sweet soup.:P

Located beside the market near RedHill MRT, it is the central corner stall at 1st stretch opposite the HDB shops.

香香小吃 Vegetarian Pureland

A recent visit to the shop again, this round, I tried its Xiang Xiang Dry Noodles, On 1st look, one would think it is Wanton noodles bec of the mock barbacued pork, but it was served with cauliflowers, mushroom & a piece of soft beancurb, with light sauced thin noodles, a unique creation of its own. I like this barley drink which comes with white fungus, very reasonably-priced at $0.60.

Located at Blk 11 Jalan Bt Merah, #03-4460 (If from Ikea & Safra, turn left & 1 block away from ABC market towards Bt Merah Central direction, or 3 bus-stops away from Bt Merah Inter-change)
Though unit is #03, but it is actually at level 1 to normal eye level & you find 3 impressive looking vegetarian shops side by side.

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

This is one of the pioneer vegetarian stalls that sells a variety of vegetarian food (burgers, western food, dry noodles, kway chap etc) besides traditional standard vegetarian mee hoon.

The special of the day is Fish Soup Mee Hoon.

Nice!!! With thick pieces of bean-curb skin mock fish (hard to find nowadays as more are using another type of mock fish:-(), caixin, thin pieces of fried toufu, mock fish cakes & seaweed, & just nice taste soup :-)

Located beside the market near RedHill MRT, it is the central corner stall at 1st stretch opposite the HDB shops.

香香小吃 Vegetarian Pureland

I have always heard from my friend that there is this 3 vegetarian shops beside the ABC market (near Ikea & Safra). I finally managed to find my way there 1 good afternoon.
The centre shop with its unique signboard picture of a happy Panda chewing bamboo caught my attention. It is a small shop selling not only vegetarian food but also organic vegetables, nature health products and other vegetarian products. I could find the Rock salt that I introduced in my other blog there:-)
Nowadays, it's hard to find Soon Kueh with just nice texture of skin and I found it there. The skin is not too thick, though slightly thinner would be even more perfect but nice enough and the ingredients of turnip is fresh & crunchy.
I guess I would visit it again to try its other food such as sushi & noodles on its menu.
