Bras Basah Complex Food Court

It's being a while since I last visited the stall and was quite surprised to be greeted by a new chef. I tried the Fried Kway Teow and the Plain soup Kway Teow. The Fried Kway Teow was abit oily but tasted good and for the Plain soup, it tasted better than last try.:-)
However, I was sad to be informed that owner decided to stop its operation by end of the month and no news yet if there will be a new vegetarian stall replacing it.

I also received another sad piece of news. My favourite stall at Rocher Centre Coffee Shop had also ceased operation. How sad! Hopefully, they will resume operation elsewhere later after having a good rest.

Looking for warm soup variety? The stall serves Plain soup & Tom Yam version.
The Soup meehoon (top) is abit plain in taste which could be enhanced with the chillies. The Tom Yam meehoon is sour enough though not spicy. Still nice to have in cold rainy days.

This is a good stall to visit when you are hungry or you want to share food with someone of small appetite. As usual, the portion is big with generous portion of vege. The gravy for Hor Fun is abit plain so adding the quite salty chilli helped to complement it..
Talking about Hor Fun, I really miss the corner Vegn outlet that used to sell Vegn Hor Fun at Suntec City's Sky Garden. I vaguely recall the name is Kingsland? The Hor Fun was so well-fried that it was really fragrant & smooth. I wonder where the chef had moved to:P

Located at the Food court of Bras Basah Complex and beside the Chicken Rice stall, you could have easily missed it. I could not find its name except the Chinese character <斋> which means vegetarian.

(Tom Yam Fried Rice)

The rice portion served is enough for 2 with small stomach, I really struggled to finish even though I was real hungry that day. The brown shreds below the vege are actually mock pork floss but as with all mock pork floss tasted so far, they tasted very fake & dry. (Can someone recommend a good brand of mock pork floss they tasted so far?)
However, the Tom Yam taste is quite strong & the sour taste of it makes it appetising for you to want to finish the rice. (partly bec I am hungry?:P)

(Fried Kway Teow)

This is actually more like Dry Hor Fun style as they use the fatter version of Kway Teow. However, I request the lady to fry it sweeter & with more dark sauce so it is a replica of the cockles Kway Teow style. Nice & smooth!!! Must try:-)

Another stall that I think does the Fried Kway Teow well is the Vegetarian stall at Suntec Foodcourt. ;-)
