一心素食, Chinatown

At the request of a friend looking for nice vegetarian fried carrot cake, I was quite lucky to come across 2 stalls to recommend to her.

One is at 一心. Although it may not look dark and sweet enough as per what we usually defined as nice for fried black-sauced carrot cake, it turned out to be sweet as well for the white pieces and the carrot cake is springy!!! I would think the standard is better than alot of non-vegetarian version! :-)

Located at a coffeeshop at 39 Temple Street, 一心素食 is just near centre of street opp Lucky Chinatown, beside stretch where the new Grand court Vegetarian restaurant is. Opening hours: 8am to 10pm Daily.

Hi Anonymous,
Glad that you like it.:-)
I went back days later and requested for a "darker" version & those who tasted it commented that it has the "Char Kway Teow" style taste.:-)
Yummy too!!! :-)

Cheers :-)

I finally tried the Bun you mentioned, wow, the mock ham is so big and yummy, the cost is very reasonable. I also had the veg. char siew with leaf bun, nice too.

Oh, i forgotten i bought their pumpkin cake, it is still in the refrigerator, must remember to heat them up.

Crystal :)
They have Veg version cattle kang kong fish salad too. Next round to try.

So many surprises :)
