一心素食 Yi Xin Vegetarian, Chinatown

Another new dish from my favourite noodles stall, Yi Xin at Chinatown.
This is Zha Jiang Qiao Mai Mian which can loosely be translated as Sauced Wheat Noodles. Well, the sauce is average but the noodles used is superb!
It is soft & springily, texture close to the thick meehoon used in laksa.
Very colorful & appetising with slices of fresh vege, worth trying...

There is also a good variety of Vegetarian Chinese New Year cookies available at the coffeeshop, so after some shopping for goodies at Chinatown, you may like to let your stomach enjoy some goodies too...

Located at a coffeeshop at 39 Temple Street, 一心素食 is just near centre of street opp Lucky Chinatown, beside stretch where the corner has many nice stone carving statues. Opening hours: 8am to 10pm Daily.

Rice House 粥大王

What is this dried not very appetising looking dish? Their side dishes: Otah Otah pieces. It is the commercial instant frozen product alike taste for Vegetarian Otah that we could had got off-shelf but instead of steaming it, they deep-fried it and the taste is much improved compared to steaming and of course compliment to their good skill of deep-frying it to the right degree. Worth trying , especially with dipping into their spicy vegetarian chicken rice chilli.:-)
They had added more dishes to their menu since last long visit, must return with more friends to try more...

Ps. a new discovery made: Just beside Rice House, a new vegetarian supply shop: The Green Sutra just opened a few months ago. It is a neat shop with good supply of vegetarian instant products like tibits and amazingly variety of instant noodles as well as cup-cakes and pastries.

The Rice House is located at Blk 129 Geylang East ave 1, beside Foo Hai Chan Monastery & Opposite Sims Ville Condo. May alight at 2nd bus stop from Aljunied MRT & walk further up & turn left to Monastery direction.

素满园 (Kopitiam at Tiong Bahru Plaza)

Look like real Vegetarian Satay at SuManYuan (素满园) Vegetarian stall of Tiong Bahru Plaza Food court. The taste is quite good, chewy like mutton but M says it tastes like Taupok-alike. Well, just treat it as another unique dish regardless of name. Worth trying again...

Located at Tiong Bahru Plaza Food Court - Kopitiam (3rd level) near entrance

House of Vegetarian

Its special of the day: Vegetarian Sliced Fish Soup.
It turned out to be better than expected beautiful bowl of soup meehoon.
For non soup dishes ordered, the friendly lady boss gives away a free bowl of Luohanguo soup verus plain vege soup. Glad to know it is surviving and have a number of regulars as another vegatarian stall at level 1 of Golden shoe carpark corner foodcourt had closed.

Asian Vegetarian stall at Clifford Centre's Basement Banquet Food Court located near to the escalator.

Veggie Hub (Fortune Centre)

Ceased operation :-(

New Vegetarian outlet: Veggie Hub, at Fortune Centre level 1, just 2 doors from Gokul.
Selling Specials like Double-boiled Soup & Soup Noodles.
Kimchi Noodles was on its menu of display board, and since wanted something soupy to warm my stomach, I ordered it.
Quite a spicy bowl with plenty of soft Kimchi, and 2 slices of mock meat. Glad that they did not use maggie noodles as like some stalls. Generally, taste quite ok...
May return to try their Double-boiled Herbal Soup in future...

Veggie Hub is located at 190 Middle Road, #01-05 Fortune Centre.
