Classic Lao Di Fang Vegetarian Restaurant PL

Been long long time to have an enjoyable lunch at Classic Lao Di Fang, and finally had a chance to try their lunch buffet that is really Value for $$$ @ $12.80 (weekday) per pax.

Beware when you order, if you go in group of 4, if you choose many dishes at a go, they do not proportionately reduce the size of each main dish, but serve 4 person's share per dish or perhaps it could already be small size on their standard menu :P.
I would recommend to start with their herbal mushroom soup (*NIP), have a try on their authentic fried carrot cake under dim sum section (*NIP), Bailing Mushroom with Vegetables, Fried Spicy Mushrooms with Oats, and try to leave some capacity to end the meal with their delicious desserts which I would recommend their Sweet Corn with Water Chestnut.
We wish we had more time and capacity to try more dishes.
It's really Value for $ as for the same price, we could not had enjoyed as much dishes on Ala carte basis and for the buffet meal, there wasn't reduction in quality and quantity in my opinion.
We wish that the lunch buffet promotion could continue so that we could return to try more dishes.

*NIP: Not in picture
One could imagine what a wonderful spread we had with a number of other dishes not in picture & not mentioned above:P

It is located at 9 Penang Rd, Park Mall, Basement 1, #B1-12, just turn left from the down escalator.
Tel: 6533 8959

Returning to Vegsenz, this time round, I would recommend their Mango Salad, which with good mixture of fresh vege such as Alfalfa, bell peppers, with black & white sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds & the mango cubes with nice sauce won my friends' praises. (one of the better salads that as a non-salad lover, also thumbs up for it :-) )

Next to recommend is their Tahu Goreng with Pumpkin sauce. Just simple steamed/boiled beancurb with thick satay tasted pumpkin sauce, simple & nutritious.
Vegsenz is certainly another great place for gathering where the staff is always ready to refill your water, and will provide you with convenience of sharing the food with friends. My high service standard demanding friend was very satisfied with their service and we enjoyed a good time. :-)

Vegsenz is located at The Verge, 2 Serangoon Road , #01-24/25/26 S(218227), Tel: 63920369
It is actually quite easy to find as once you are out from exit B/C? of Little India MRT station (the exit to Tekka Centre), it is not difficult to find the big words of "The Verge" on a modern building. However, Vegsenz is not on this tower nearer to MRT, it is actually located on another tower behind the 1st building.
It is actually quite near to Bugis too, just diagonally behind Sim Lim Square.

Happy Life Vegetarian

Rejoice, another new vegetarian stall opened at Geylang, located at the same coffee-shop as Kwan Inn Vegetarian Food.

This new stall is called Happy Life Vegetarian which sells Special menu of the day like Nasi Lemak, and Tze Char. Strongly recommend what they called as Indian Rojak but was actually the most healthiest fried food that I had taken. Instead of just flour, it was more like the Japanese version of tempura of ladyfingers, brinjal, potato, tempeh & mixed vege slices. It came surprising without dripping oil and tasted very healthy and crispy, with a light peanut sauce that was fragrant with fine peanut pieces that one won't feel heatiness unlike conventional Indian Rojak sauce. I would definitely return again for this Indian Rojak!
We also tried their Stir-fry Vermicelli and Crispy Duck. (picture taken with some Noel effect from iphone:P) The Crispy Duck had top-skin well-fried and coated just like Miao Yi Vegetarian Restaurant's Vegetarian Suckling Pig except the down point was the 'meat' portion was actually gluten/soya based mock meat which I would prefer to be bean-curb skin based. I like their Vermicelli, with dark sauce gravy which was well-done.
This is really a healthy non-fusion stall that I would strongly recommend. :-)

There is also a new vegetarian tenant: Loving Heart which had just taken over the Chinn Seng Restaurant on the other side of the same HDB block. Looks like it is tough competition but real blessings for vegetarian patrons around the area...
It is located at corner coffee shop at Blk134 Geylang East Ave1, #01-229, 2nd bus stop from Aljunied Mrt. Opposite Tan Swie Hian Museum. Happy Life Vegetarian is located at the left corner, inside same coffee-shop which hosted Kwan Inn Vegetarian (KIV) for those who knew KIV better. It operates from 9am-9.30pm, rests on Wednesday.
