Fu Yuan Vegetarian Food

Visited ABC Brickworks Food Centre, located at 6 Jalan Bukit Merah, located between Bt Merah Central & old Safra for breakfast. There are 2 stalls of vegetarian stalls in this popular food centre. Craving for something spicy, I decided to patronise this centre stall that has Mee Siam on its Special menu of the day. The gravy is very authentic with just nice sourness & sweetness required of a good Mee Siam. A pity they did not cover their mee hoon with enough gravy. Or else if well soaked with the gravy, it would had won more points.

Nature Vegetarian (Sin Ming Ave)

Met up with a few friends and that's good opportunity to try Nature Vegetarian's Ala Carte menu again. Ordered their Vegetarian Cereal Prawn and their prawns were those instant frozen floury prawns instead of beancurb skin type, despite that, the oats & curry leaves were well cooked & overall quite an enjoyable dish.

Their Hot-plate Beancurb looked not as interesting but it was those braised or "Hong Shao" style of beancurb that added points to the dish, and would be excellent if they had added more pieces of it. :-P
Their spicy Sambal Sweet-potato Leaves though not really of sambal taste was really spicy that would cause one to take more rice.... :-)

The coffee shop is located at 409 Sin Ming Ave, #02-01 (Opp Bright Hill temple)
Opening hrs: 7am to 9.30pm

Fancy Vegetarian Food stall at Lucky Plaza

Been ages since last tried Fancy Vegetarian as my lunchmates do not really like to walk this far.
Great variety of dishes they have and on the day of visit, besides the normal fried noodles, they also had this Fried Hokkien Noodles & Mee Hoon as well as Fried rice. I thought they would charge more for the Hokkien noodles but still $2.80 with 3 dishes & nice curry gravy that they had that went well with the Hokkien noodles.:-) Long queue develops during lunch hours so it is recommended either be there early or late to avoid the crowd in the coffee shop.

This "coffee shop" is located to the further right of Asian Food Mall, just walk further right from the Food Mall and you will find this shop towards direction of the right entrance of Lucky Plaza.

Luo Han Vegetarian Health Food

Sad ! Ceased Operation...

Located near the escalator of #01 of Fortune Centre, this shop sells a great variety of vegetarian dishes, even with a specialised counter selling La Mian. However, was more in a rice mood for dinner today & scanning through their menu, noticed this interesting Curry Leaves Fried Rice. I love dishes with curry leaves, hence immediately ordered a packet of it.

It turned out to be a curry flavoured fried rice that each grain of rice is well immersed with curry flavour. Very appetising with the curry taste which is non-spicy at all to me. There are a few curry leaves but does not taste as good as when with the vegetarian oats prawns but overall the fried rice tasted soft and good and recommendable to try.:-)

It is located at 190 Middle Road, #01-13/14 (Fortune Centre), Singapore 188979

Opening Hours: Mon - Sun: 8am - 8.30pm

Pine Tree Cafe (Fortune Centre)

Visited Fortune Centre again and found that all food places at #2 were closed except for Pine Tree Cafe. Decided to try their vegetarian Bak Kut Teh soup and Fried Wonton.

From picture, the soup looked meaty but was mainly dried beancurb skins cooked and a few pieces of mock mutton, 2 slices of chopped corn and good portion of lettuce. The soup is with very mild herbal taste and you can see wolfberries also added from the picture.
The fried wontons were crispy with main focus on the well-fried crispiness of the skin rather than their fillings which tasted liked smashed beancurb filling. Worth trying at $3 per plate.:-)

慈缘轩 (Ci Yan Xuan) Chinatown

Longing for an air-conditioned place to have a less perspiring and quick dinner, Ci Yan Xuan is my top-choice around Chinatown area. Their menu for the day had Corn & Carrot Soup Noodles and I ordered that. A full bowl of white & red carrot, 2 slices of chopped corn, some mock meat and hidden below the ingredients were the similar type of flat "white jade" noodles used for their cold noodles.
It was very satisifying!:-)

Their delicious looking fruit & vegetable salad from next table attracted my attention & I went back with my friend for supper. :P
Generous plate with vegetables and fruits included cubes of mango, pears, Fuji-apple?
Very crunchy, and with the fresh vegetables was one of the more satisfying salad that I had tried so far. The dressing very similar taste as the Thousand Island if less diluted and stronger in taste would have added more points.

佳明素食 (Concorde Hotel Food Court)

I start to love their brown rice which is soft and their wide variety of dishes to choose from. Generally, the brown rice with any 3 vegetables cost around $3.50 and with a bowl of soup. Can also see increasing Indian patrons visiting the stall.
Ordered their Fried Hokkien noodles for dinner the other day, the lady cook being less stressed compared to lunch hours could cook up more delicious meal. It did tasted like Fried Hokkien noodles & tempted by the tempeh and bean curb from their economical rice dishes, I ordered that too.:-)
