New Fut Kai Vegetarian Restaurant

Fantastic Vegetarian Sweet & Sour Pork Rice!
The sweet & sour sauce is authentic and though the filling does not taste like meat, it is nice by itself without resemblance to meat taste.
A dish I will order again in future visits... :-)

Lin Lin Vegetarian Delights

At the street across the Bedok Public Library, there exist a Vegetarian stall, Lin Lin Vegetarian Delights in the coffeeshop of Blk 412 Bedok North Ave 2. This stall was strongly recommended by P who lived in the East.

The stall specialises in Stir-fry dishes and its speed in serving is no slower than Rulaizhai at Sin Ming.
The vegetarian Sweet & Sour Pork was sweet with well-fried flour coating but I could not make up what's the ingredients inside. The Claypot Brinjal was spicy & appetising. The stir-fry Luohanzhai was well-done and saw the purple vege? At 1st I thought was brinjal but was surprised when P told me it is purple cabbage. Very crunchy and a plus point to the dish, I didn't know that it could be cooked in such a way other than as a salad vege. Their Wolfberry Soup is highly recommended, very refreshing taste, strongly recommend!
P mentioned that their Hor-fun and Hokkien mee are nice too and the place is crowded during vegetarian days, lunar 1st & 15th of the month.

Fo Lai Ping (Popular) Vegetarian

Revisited Fo Lai Ping for its vegetarian Sweet & Sour Pork but this round, the cooking style differs slightly from previous trial though both presentation looked similar from picture.

The previous visit's tasted more like fatty version of "Gu Lu York" while this round's trial varies abit to be dryer exterior & tasted more to another version of sweet & sour pork ribs? One can taste that the filling inside is different too and is more likely a type of mushrooms being used. But taste as superb! The culinary skill is as good. Will definitely return for this Sweet & Sour dish again.

We also ordered Claypot beancurb which contains a good portion of braised beancurb, vegetables, black fungus and button & straw mushrooms. Value for money but perhaps I was too overwhelmed by their Sweet & Sour dish that I did not pay enough attention to the claypot dish.
This is certainly a value for money vegetarian outlet for quality & quantity. :-)

It is quite easily accessible, being located near the lift lobby of Blk107, Lor 1 Toa Payoh, #01-264 (same stretch as POSB & McDonald), HDB flat from Exit A of Braddell MRT. They are usually opened to around 10pm but closed on most Sundays so do make a call at 63580107 to check to avoid disappointment.

Yuan Wei Quan Vegetarian (YWQ)

Had earlier mistaken that after Gourmet Paradise's recent renovation, the old stall was replaced as the menu seemed to have changed with big posters of their new menu of Black Pepper Vegetarian Chicken set and Vegetarian Sweet & Sour Pork Brown Rice set.
Their menu of the day stills retains but now at a higher price of $3 (2010) to $3.70 (2013) instead of before renovation of $2.50. Their Economical rice had also inceased to ave of $3.30.
Decided to try their new Vegetarian pork brown rice set (at $4.30 in 2010!) that comes with small bowl of soup, brown rice, cabbage & a small plate of sweet & sour vegetarian pork which tasted like well-fried flour coated button mushrooms and mock meat. Nice but will be more value for money if the portion is more. :P
The food court is located at B1 of HDB Hub. You can either enter thru basement car park entrance or from entrance besides McDonald from Bus interchange.

Fo Lai Ping (Popular) Vegetarian

I had seen patrons ordered this dish & giving their thumbs up when they sampled. So, in my next visit, I ordered this vegetarian Sweet & Sour Pork (S$6) which really also let me put a thumb up and hmmm....very good culinary skill that captured the essence of the dish.
The only tiny setback that could also happened to the meat version is that they should had used the "less meaty but fatty" ingredient. :P But still a dish strongly recommended to try as the exterior is really very well-cooked.:-)

I usually only order this Luohanzhai (Mixed Vegetables) in a non-vegetarian eatery place but not knowing what to order, my friend ordered this. At $4, this was also surprisingly authentically cooked with generous portion of abalone mushroom, black fungus and green vegetables. Nice!:-)

It is quite easily accessible, being located near the lift lobby of Blk107, Lor 1 Toa Payoh, #01-0264 (same stretch as POSB & McDonald), HDB flat from Exit A of Braddell MRT.

Green Vegetarian Kitchen (Koufu, Commonwealth MRT)

Just when I need something plain & warm!!! Their porridge is cantonese style, mixed with some unpolished rice with ingredients of long bean cubes , fried tofu cubes & fried flour pieces. Taste quite ok, not saltish but maybe too big a bowl.

I like porridge cooked in cantonese style, usually soft & tasty. I find few vegn stall selling such porridge. The only other one I know is the vegn stall at Hong Lim complex food centre (2nd flr) beside the fishball noodles. They have nice peanut porridge in cantonese style (with ingredients like vegn fish cake slices etc, haven't been there for long time so can't recall exact ingredients) that goes well with the best vegn otak I find so far (but their otak is with egg :P that made its texture smoother than those in mkt without)
Sweet & Sour Pork!!! Was steaming hot, fresh out from wok when I ordered the porridge. It looked so good that I couldn't resist to order. I think this is so far the best replica I had tried. The sweet & sour flour covering was very well-done & the texture of the mock meat was very much like the real meat taste that I could recall. I asked my mum who is non- vegn to try & she complimented it was nice & tasted like the real stuff too. However, it has to be eaten hot or else will lose its texture feel (口感) when it turns cold. This stall is located near entrance of Koufu Foodcourt beside Commonwealth MRT.
