Real Food Cafe

Good news to veggie lovers at Orchard!
Long wait for new Organic Veggie outlet...
A new branch of Real Food opened near Somerset Mrt, at the old building beside Singtel along Killiney Road. It is extremely spacious with even a spacious grocery area, very unusual at this prime area.
It is fast becoming a popular lunch area for Organic veggie lovers.

Love their Soup ! The Kombu Soup, very sweet and fresh with "Kunbu" taste; and their Dumpling is a must try!  The Dumpling soup tasted lighter than the Kombu soup but was added with sesame oil to enhance its fragrance. The Dumpling's skin was well done and the ingredients inside with chopped water-chestnut (a must have ingredient to qualify as good dumpling in my opinion) and various ingredients was excellent, one of the better boiled Dumpling tried in Singapore.
I shall make an attempt to try its fried Dumpling version next time.:-)

We also ordered their Organic pizza, which used mozzarella cheese and homemade tomato paste. Light and crispy thin crust, Nice! and their Mushroom Bruschette excellently toasted to crispiness that even a non-bread lover like me put both my thumbs up. It would be better if they had been served into smaller pieces like their Central outlet instead of 2 big pieces. One big piece is good as a side dish but 2 may be overwhelming.
Generally, an enjoyful meal with relaxing environment and their menu have general good indications if the dishes are vegan, wheat/gluten-free, with onion/garlic and where possible they can remove the onion/garlic and made it vegan upon request.
However, it was discovered on another visit that some of their cakes/pastries on sale and their crispy Pizza crust has egg ingredients in it so to be safe, for Vegetarians and Vegans, please always reconfirm with the staff serving you of the ingredients you avoid especially if there is no "vegan" indicated on the menu.

Definitely will visit it again and hopefully, there will be more dishes that can be made vegan and without onion and garlic.:-)

Located at 110 Killiney Road, beside Singtel facing the Killiney Road shop-houses.

Soon Lee Vegetarian (Near Red Hill MRT Hawker Centre)

For one who likes to try interesting dishes, I can't help going to Soon Lee again whenever I visit the Redhill market to see if there are new specialty that they serve. And today, Stewed mutton noodles, Kambing (Traditional Indian) soup style.
Appetising-looking?
S says that she could smell the fragrance when I bring it back to the table. Rich with Satay sauce flavoured soup with slices of fried beancurb and mock mutton balls, the pasley and chilli enhanced its flavour. Can try again next time on menu! :-)
Located beside the market near RedHill MRT, it is the central corner stall at 1st stretch opposite the HDB shops.

Tian Yuan Vegetarian

This Vegetarian Supply Shop - Tian Yuan is hidden at level 2 (#02-23) of Fortune centre, right on 2nd stretch of shops up from the escalator. It takes abit of effort to look for it but luckily it has a bright sign.

It had also recently started selling hot food, making good uses of its supply from the shop.
It has on its menu Lei cha, Pumpkin rice, Buckwheat noodles, Vinegar Trotters, Spaghetti and this Tomato soup noodles which I ordered.
Own made from fresh tomatoes, the soup was thick like spaghetti sauce just that it is more soupy.
Very appetising with much ingredients also very tomato spaghetti-alike. There are those tiny fresh mushrooms, cubes of potato and bean curd and some pea-beans. And my favourite Parsley leaves added fragrance to the dish. If the La-mian type of noodles was cooked longer to make it softer it could had added more points, but overall a nice dish to try for tomato lovers.:-)

Create Healthy Lifestyle

Hmm, long did not visit this healthy cafe, pop by at Bugis area again and decided to try some light healthy food but end up taking this heavy spicy Korean noodles set instead, drawn by its hand-made dumplings. Well, Ah Q abit,  in a healthy cafe, it should be healthier. :-P
It looks appetising with lots of ingredients per picture. Pity the dumplings had not matched my expectations and the noodles are more towards the taste of instant noodles but the soup was still towards healthier version of not as spicy as one imagined from look at picture.

Address: 190 Middle Road, Fortune Centre, #02-04, S(188979). It is located at Fortune Centre which is just a few minutes walk from the famous Kwan Im Temple at Waterloo street

Sunrise Bread Cafe

Ceased operation :-(

Nice drawings on the wall at the small dining area of the cafe. Very relaxing to take afternoon tea environment on non busy and rushing day.
It has been for some time that the bakery has started introducing main course such as baked rice, curry rice, etc and what I tried that day, Noodles with bean sauce and Vegetarian Sharks' fin in Spinach soup.
Prices are quite reasonable at $2.50 for soup and $3.50 for the noodles. Taste else ok but I would love to try their baked rice next time. :-)

Located at level 1 of Fortune centre (190 Middle Road), at row of shops after Tracy Juice.
