Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh Soup Ban Mian!
New Special of Xuan Miao and noticed that they have now a new ingredient of mock slim meat alike look (the 3 rectangular pieces on top of the noodles) with texture of compressed beancurd skin of the vegetarian chicken/duck found in traditional stalls. Yummy!
At $6, it also comes with mock mutton, mock ikan bilis, good portion of vegetables and the squarish type of mock fish beancurd (instant product) which I dislike as I felt there is a lot of MSG taste in it. Oh they also have the mock fried fish maw that went well with the Bak Kut Teh soup verus with their original version of plain soup.
Well, Soup wise was okay (not fantastic type :P) with some Ba Jiao flavour and I requested for Ban Mian ( mee pok type of noodles; flat noodles ) instead of slim noodles in this order and was pleased that they had changed their original thick Ban Mian to better texture of slimmer and thinner version, making the texture smoother compared to the past version.
Overall, worth trying....
Oh my friend complained that the original version now comes with lesser ingredients. Gone is the Dumpling...
And how can their tasty chilli sauce, a star, be out of stock?:P
Xuan Miao is now located at Basement Foodcourt ~ Kopitiam of Paya Lebar Square, beside Green Line exit of Paya Lebar MRT.
