Lao Di Fang Vegetarian 老地方素食 (Chinatown Complex Hawker Centre)

The stall had moved! It is now located at #02-055. Thanks to a reader, xbb, abt the stall's move and aspired to find out the new location, I went on a brief hunt for it when I was around the area for dinner. It had moved to a secluded area of the hawker centre, understandably due to the great differences in rental (Phew, the difference in rent can be 3 times :P) due to difference in human traffic of location in 1 food centre.

Best way to locate it is to start from the centre escalator. On left of escalator, you could easily see "MingFa Fishball stall" move to its right corner and where you may think that it is the end, you will see a poster on the wall that guides you to stalls 051-098, just dare dare walk towards direction where you thought could be leading to end, you will see another lane of stalls hidden from the human traffic. Happy exploring!!!

Craving for rice instead of the usual noodles, I decided to try their curry chicken rice set. It was served with mixed brown & white rice. The fried mock chicken tasted normal but I love the curry, abit towards Indian curry flavour, should have asked for more to go with the rice. Soup for the day I recall was white carrot and winter melon that melted in your mouth. Simple but nice.

Hi Beng,
I am quite tolerant of spicy food and the curry at the stall is not spicy to my taste, I would say just nice.
Yes, the mock chicken tasted soya bean based.

I am not sure if standards remain but following are so far my favorite vegn chicken rice stall:

and vegn duck rice stall:

(Hmm, looks like long time since I last tasted the vegn duck rice from there. Its Belachan chilli really goes well with their rice, can try their vegn duck soup too)
Aiyo, you made me feel hungry recalling them.... :P

Haha, sorry to make you hungry so early morning.

The chicken rice used to be on the special menu of the day for Monday.

The duck rice should be available everyday except when the shop rests on Monday if their schedule had not changed.
There are many choices at Rice House but wow, time flies, last post there in July. :P
I am more of a noodle person so I will order noodles at most visits.
The good taste I remembered would most likely be before I started the blog. :P Lets hope their standard maintains. Do give it a try....
Cheers:-)

Sunny, if you haven't post this, I wouldn't have keep on looking for this stall in the hawker centre which is so big. Finally found it, situated at quite a isolated place.

There 3 veg stall, right? Or are there more?

Just Green at Food Village @ Takashimaya, do have Veg. Chicken rice which is not deep-fried.

It tastes yummy, only thing that spoil the dish on that day which I ordered was the veg given is stir-fried cai xin not blanced xiao bai cai with veg. oyster sauce. If not, I would vote 100% for this dish, yummy plus good presentation which is so close to real one.

Chilli sauce is yummy too.

Cheers :) crystal

I think there are total 4.
2 near Escalator facing the temple, 1 is Lao Di Fang and another is Ying Xin at #02-005 located around 2nd stretch at end of food centre nearer to CK. I had a posting at:
