New Green Pasture Cafe

Fortune centre is also a delightful place for Vegetarian food lovers.
From what I know, there are at least 3 vegetarian outlets , 1 vegetarian bakery, 1 vegetarian supply shop at its level 1,
1 organic cafe, 2 vegetarian local delights outlet at level 2,
and 1 organic cafe at level 4.

And I am introducing this organic fusion cafe at level 4 which is also a pioneer in organic vegetarian fusion food. You could find variety of Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese delights here. And it also has a wide range of organic supplies.
Their soba salad which is soba with similar to CNY Yusheng vegetables and sauce is my favourite. It had been sometime since I last visited and its menu had expanded and there is a really a good variety and is a great place to visit with friends to share.
Craving for rice instead of noodles that day, I decided to try their Korean Stone Pot Rice, Bibimbup. Not well reflected in the picture, it was a beautiful replica of the original non-vegetarian version.
The Egg-yolk like at centre if I recall correctly, tasted like small roasted potato with belachan chilli stuffed below it, the yellowish on top left are mashed beancurb, other ingredients included shreds of carrot, seaweed, mock meat floss, and the big bean sprouts. The set at $9.50 comes with nice kimchi (without garlic which is usually used in making of kimchi) and you may add $1 to get a bowl of soup of day that donates towards Vegetarian society. Portion is just right for a hungry me. I was surprised at the speed their dishes are being served and wished that they could have cooked slightly longer so that the rice would have the slight burnt sizzling taste. The owner who has a loud voice reminds me of Mdm Wong of Ci Yan Xuan who also serves fantastic Bibimbup but is only on their ad-hoc menu of the day. (Must try shd you visit on that lucky day!!!) Their concept of organic healthy vegetarian food seems to be very similar too...

This is their bamboo rice, very beautifully decorated, unlike what I thought of traditional way it will be served. The rice is very fragant & sweet with a good variety of ingredients. Yummy...

New Green Pasture Cafe is located at Fortune Centre which is just a few minutes walk from the famous Kwan Im Temple at Waterloo street.

My non-vegetarian friend like this eatery. She brought her family there, and her mom (70+ yr old) ordered bamboo rice and find it delicious.

I tried, it was just nice and yummy. Able to get a thumb up from a NON_VEG 70 yrs old lady is not an easy task. Now, my friend introduce this eatery to her non-veg friends too ...

cheers :)
