慈缘轩 (Ci Yan Xuan) Chinatown

Also a long while since I visited the shop. Their menu of the day: Ipoh Hor Fun.
Version served seems to differ from my fading memory of their traditional Ipoh Hor Fun. What's been served today is more like Hor Fun with thick sauced mushroom slices with white sesame seeds which also tasted good in its unique way and I don't mind as I love well-cooked mushrooms.

Address: 8 Smith Street (shophouse near end of Food Street)
Tel: 6225 9026 (If you want to confirm menu of the day after 11am:P)
Usual Opening Hours: 12pm-10.30pm

Ipoh Hor Fun, sauce is not so dark, I think. It is a little difficult to have Ipoh Hor Fun here, we can't get the special bean sprout (Ipoh Bean Sprout, very short and fat and crunchy) ...

Ipoh Bean Sprout is so delicious and famous that they use to make a dish with chicken. Hor Hun make used the water from Ipoh is not easily available here ...

Many old folk still have the idea that too eat bean sprout - leg weak! That is what the old folk in Ipoh believe too, even their bean sprout is so yummy and special. So, the stall that sell noodle with bean sprout already accept special offer and also make it known that if customer feel it don't eat, but some old folk is ok with bean sprout, no problem at all.

In fact many veg eateries is trying to veganise popular street food that they went too "far", they could have just revolutionized instead, not naming it as Vegetarian xxx, but with a twist and no need to go so far out from the context unless to improvise to have a totally new dish.

I really admire the owner of this veg eatery. I would use her as a role model for my cancer friend, it does gives lots of encouragements.

Cheers :)

Yes, some like to borrow the name to help in easy associate. Previously tried their Ipoh Hor Fun which as you mentioned is much lighter in color & still prefer that version though this version is also nice. :-)
