Passing by Geylang Lorong 25A on way to the Singapore Buddhist Federation ( one street away at Lor 24A) for a retreat, I was initially attracted by the name of the corner coffee shop: LaoDiFang in Chinese. Was glad to find breakfast at this vegetarian stall: ZiFuLing Vegetarian which just opened in Jul 2011 and operating 24hours!
Although currently selling mainly more local delights like Wanton noodles and hand-made Popiah, the lady boss proudly proclaims her plans to introduce more western cuisine like monkey-head mushroom burgers and baked potato wedges when the business stabilises.
Their morning breakfast includes simple fried Meehoon and fried mock meat stuff that she proudly claims is not oily at all. Well, the white meehoon is certainly light and good for those on diet. Just nice for a light breakfast but slightly more portion will be better for big-eaters like me.:P
I think the stall's theme is to discourage overeating as their hand-made popiah ($1.30) was healthily slim too compared to conventional. The vegetables included crunchy cucumber slices and sesame seeds and the sauce is slightly different more to the light rojak taste. The lady boss proudly proclaims the popiah and her well marinated fried stuff are favourites for non-vegetarian nite patrons.
Good to know another new vegetarian stall & 24 hours! :-)
