Love No Limits

Sad ! Ceased Operation...

A new vegetarian Fusion Food entry at Fortune Centre introduced by Prefer Vegetarian blog.
Excited to give it a try especially on the Spaghetti recommended~ The American Veggie Bolognese.
Though it may be interesting concept to put the dish on those metal plate but the presentation could be much appetising if placed in Japanese bento set instead. Anyway, back to the dish, the spaghetti was well-cooked with generous tomato gravy which was sour enough to make the dish appetising. Portion wise still ok for me and unique to have 2 Chinese dishes - the stewed carrot tomato pieces and boiled green vege caixin. I wished instead for more of the simple shreds of salad which had a great mayonnaise alike dressing to go with.
Right now they are having a promotion that if you become their members at a price of S$10, they will give you 2 free pizza for redemption anytime and enjoy a discount of 40-70%  on their dishes. So,now one only needs to pay $4.40 (instead of $8) for the American Veggie Bolognese and get to enjoy their American Herbal Pizza ($12) for free!
It is pizza with thin crust with strong unique herbal taste which may not be acceptable to some but still worth a try with the crispy crust.
There are also Vietnamese Mee hoon, Malaysia Rojak & Satay Mee Hoon and other Asia delights on the menu, will likely return to try. :P

The eatery is located at #01-06 of Fortune center just next to Gokul.

IMM Kopitiam Vegetarian Food

Visited IMM recently and at the 2nd level Kopitiam Foodcourt, there is this vegetarian food stall. Tried their Claypot beancurd with brown rice. Instead of serving in claypot, it was served in minipot with mini fire which I am glad as I like sizzling warm food. It was a good size of vege, mushroom with silky beancurd and the gravy was just nice, not saltish and great to eat with the slightly dry brown rice. A friend who frequents the stall too complimented its economical rice dishes served with soup during lunch. Good to know out about the presence of another vegetarian stall.:-)

JIAXIANG VEGETARIAN

Located at Golden Mile Food Centre (505 Beach Road) level 2, near centre at level 1, glad to find vegetarian food at this famous food centre with many good food. Jiaxiang has so far the most authentic Fried Hokkien Mee that I had tried so far, the stock gravy and the just well stir-fried noodles and nice chilli that goes with it makes it a complimentary dish.

NATURE'S HARVEST CAFE

Recalling their soupy noodles looked good during last visit, we ordered the recommended Mee Hun Kuay & Red Yeast Mee Sua.
C liked the plainer soup Mee Hun Kuay which unlike conventional Mee Hun Kuay is thicker in texture while taste and color I suspect maybe using brown rice.
However, I prefer their Mee Sua which is smooth like thin noodles with generous portion of black fungus, white mushroom, small corn slice and green vegetables. :-)

They have good variety of vegetarian supplies too.
Located at Fu Lu Shou building #02-08, at a corner amidst the crystal shops.

Yuan Wei Quan Vegetarian (YWQ)

Most of the time when I am at Toa Payoh Central, I will tend to visit the vegetarian stall at Gourmet Paradise. Like its variety and Daily menu :-)

Menu of day recently visited was Prawn noodles, something I had not tried before from the stall. It is defaulted Soup noodles with a beautiful variety mock products. Sweet soup with crunchy Kang Kong , beancurd and even mock fried onion slices and love their generous red chilli slices that added a pinch of spiciness to the soup.:-)

The food court is located at B1 of HDB Hub. You can either enter thru basement car park entrance or from entrance besides McDonald from Bus interchange. It is located at a corner nearer to basement car park entrance.

Rice House 粥大王

Long long time since to Rice House, they have slight improvement in technology instead of traditional cashier system, but most importantly, variety of dishes increased too.
Wanting to have something hot, decided to try their Herbal Monkey-head Mushroom Vermicelli (Mee sua). The soup tasted much like the Vegetarian Pork Ribs soup, the monkey-head mushroom was well-marinated and tasted close to the texture I was looking for, pity only a few small pieces. Other ingredients included Taupok, button mushroom & wolfberries. Overall, a nice dish on a rainy day.

They are located at Blk 129 Geylang East ave 1, beside Foo Hai Chan Monastery & Opposite Sims Ville Condo. May alight at 2nd bus stop from Aljunied MRT & walk further up & turn left to Monastery direction.

Gokul (Fortune Centre)

Gokul had opened at Fortune Centre #01 and I can't recall if the original outlet at Little India also serves pure vegetarian without onion, garlic, leeks etc or it is only this outlet to attract the greater population of Chinese Buddhist patrons who visit the famous Chinese temple in the area. ButI really like the idea of trying Indian food without the aftertaste of onions.:-)

Had originally wanted to try the naan which I had previously overheard was nice but they had ran out of naan on the day I visit with my Indian food expert, M.
We ordered Paper dosa ( top pict) which was my 1st attempt and according to M was to be crispy but it was abit soft when served to us. Tasted abit like crepe to me and the sauces to dip with was non spicy and I could only remember the last pale green sauce was peppermint and to me the 3 sauces are just passable.

We preferred the gravy of the Paneer tikka masala (mid pict) which we used it to dip instead. I really missed paneer & masala ever since my last India trip more than 1 year ago!
The gravy is tasty but the paneer tasted more like beancurd instead of the paneer which I recall should be of more chewy & cheesy taste.

Next was Sardine Murtabha which was also my 1st attempt on Murtabha as non vegetarian version usually comes with meat & onions which I avoid...
I had always thought Murtabha was something like the thicker version of egg prata with filling and I was abit disappointed with the size when it came. Its sardine filling was more like curry flavoured cabbages and the Murtabha softened with the heat of the ingredients tasted like softened popiah skin, a great variation from my imagination.
Not in picture but saved the day was their Lime Lassi, the sweet yoghurt drink which I grew to love:-) Their Masala tea was complimented by my friend as well.

I think I will return to try their naan and some other more spicy dishes and other lassi drinks. :-)
But I guess I have to increase my exercise time too to burn all the calories...:P
